MY OWN EXPERIENCE in one word- underwhelmed.
Have you ever spent a pretty penny on a facial treatment, only to be completely underwhelmed? To be honest, that is how I felt after my first Hydrafacial. Yes I get their marketing stand point- glowing skin in 3 steps and 30 min. But damn Daniel- if I’m dropping a buck fifty (that’s $150) on a facial, it better last longer than 30 min. I basically should have a new face for that amount of money. Yes of course I could’ve sprung for the extras such as the LED light therapy, booster serums, micro current- but momma is ballin on a single mom budget, and the most basic Hydrafacial was already at the top of my budget. Below are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about a Hydrafacial:
What is a Hydrafacial?
An important step in any effective skincare treatment involves resurfacing the top layer of skin. One commonly known resurfacing procedure, microdermabrasion, uses micro-crystals to mechanically exfoliate the skin. While this method is very effective, it can also be irritating for acne-prone or sensitive skin types.
To address these concerns, HydraFacial was born, using water as the exfoliating medium. This multi-step treatment uses a device to cleanse, exfoliate, and extract dead skin cells while bathing the skin in serums packed with rich hydrating ingredients, antioxidants, and peptides.
Who is a good candidate for a Hydrafacial?
HydraFacials can be performed on all skin types, including very sensitive skin. What is unique about this treatment is that it is highly customizable, therefore making a custom treatment for each client and his or her specific needs and skincare goals.
What will I experience?
The HydraFacial follows the same steps of a basic medical facial: cleansing and exfoliation, chemical peel, extractions, and infusion of serums. All four steps are administered through various attachments on the HydraFacial device. The suction and movement of the device boosts lymphatic drainage and improves circulation in the skin.
What are the benefits?
After a HydraFacial treatment, you will notice immediate results. Skin will feel smoother, softer, and more hydrated as a result of the exfoliating acids and hydrating ingredients used. You may also notice a slight reduction in puffiness due to the lymphatic drainage. The use of nutrient-rich serums may also temporarily plump up fine lines and wrinkles, lessening their appearance.

When should someone get a Hydrafacial?
A HydraFacial is a great option for anyone desiring smoother, deeply hydrated skin with a quick turnaround. It is generally recommended to receive a Hydrafacial once a month. As there is no downtime associated with the treatment, it can be administered anytime during the year. Monthly Hydrafacials are recommended as a part of a healthy skin regimen.
A Facial is only as good as it's provider.
A FACIAL IS ONLY AS GOOD AS IT'S PROVIDER.
I chose to add the Hyrafacial to my list of services because of ALL of the above listed, also knowing that I could add my own modalities, making it the perfect facial. Every Hydrafacial with me INCLUDES: skin type specific masks, steam, ultrasonic extractions (skin scrubber) facial massage, and the ULTRAmit Eyes & Lip Therapy treatment.
Additional add ons available include microcurrent, LED light therapy, dermaplane or diamond tip microdermabrasion.
